To best preserve the quality of your Allégorie bag , we recommend clean and condition the leather every three months, or as often as necessary. More information on how to care for different leather can be found below on this page.
Start with a Q-tip or small brush to gently clean the surface of your bag. Avoid rubbing the surface.
Follow with natural beeswax to moisturize the surface. Apply a small amount to a clean, soft cloth, and gently apply onto the leather using strokes following one direction. Avoiding circular or repetitive strokes at the same spot. Let the bag rest for 30 minutes in a well-ventilated area and avoid direct heat.
Allégorie also provides in-house beeswax products. Click here.
Start with a damp cloth to gently rub away any spots, and wipe off any surface dirt and scuff marks. Then use a clean, soft cloth to apply a layer of natural beeswax to moisturize the surface. Let the bag rest for 30 minutes in well-ventilated area and avoid direct heat.
Use only water-based solutions to clean the materials. Do not use solvents such as alcohol, acetone, paint thinner, bleach, oil, vinegar, or waxes, as these will cause permanent damage to the material.
For spills or stains, remove as quickly as possible with a cotton cloth damped in water. If the stain remains, damp the cloth with some highly diluted soap water. Simply tap the area of stains and avoid rubbing the material. Dry the surface with a dry white cotton cloth.

Our lining materials are inherently resistant to spills and stains, washable and can be dry cleaned. They are also animal-friendly and doesn't absorb pet odors.
When caring for our lining materials, start with a damp cloth to gently rub away spots, then use a brush to remove surface dirt and scuff marks. Brush all over to revive the nap (the soft fibers that give its velvety texture).
